Mariana Pereira Carvalho is a Brazilian writer, poet, researcher and translator in Boston, Massachusetts. Formerly a computer engineer in the technology industry, she is today a technology educator at Cambridge Community Television in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She earned both her undergraduate degree in Communications and her MBA from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing in Brazil, and her Master of Science in Computer Science from Jackson State University, in Jackson, Mississippi. Her literary work explores the maladies of technology and its impacts on the environment and on marginalized groups, especially women and immigrants.
